A Bit of History

On the DC-Maryland border on the southernmost point of Silver Spring following Georgia Ave to 16th St you will find a quiet little neighborhood called Brightwood Park. Brightwood Park is located in Northwest Washington DC and is located in Ward 4. At the time of this blog post Muriel Bowser is the representative for Council for the District of Columbia.

As is with most of DC, Brightwood Park is largely Rowhomes (Townhomes) and semi-detached homes and small neighborhood businesses. Brightwood Park is located south of Manor Park and to the north of Brightwood, to the East is Fort Totten and to the West is 16th St Heights. Missouri Ave borders the neighborhood to the north, Emerson St to the South, New Hampshire Ave to the east and Georgia Ave to the West.

Why Live Here

While there are not a lot of cool café's such as those in Adams Morgan or Columbia Heights there are a few smaller neighborhood café's that the locals in the area frequent.

Like most neighborhoods in DC Brightwood has its ups and downs however if you're looking for a quieter neighborhood in DC and can live with the lack of nightlife and a metro that is a hop skip and a jump away then Brightwood might be a great option.
